Wow! I didn't even realize I've been such a slacker this week about posting this week.

1. Golfing with Josh.

2. Getting the bike trailer/stroller set up.

3. Attempting to fly Jake's stunt kite that he got for his birthday (not quite enough wind).

4. Fun looking up recipes for the easter egg hunt I hosted at our near-by park.

5. Friends who came and brought their little ones to play, eat, and hunt for eggs.

6. Warmer weather and neighbors out to play with in the culdesac.

7. An excuse to get out of the house instead of staying inside and cleaning/folding laundry.

8. Special Christ-centered Ensign magazine.

1. Banana bread. Who would have thought that overripened bananas could be turned into such a yummy treat?!

2. A budget. I know I've mentioned this before- but I can't say enough how grateful I am that Jake and I decided to set up and review our budget on a regular basis at the start of our marriage. It has blessed our lives in so many ways. Helped us to avoid fights, plan for the future, know where our strengths and weaknesses are, and maintain proper priorities. Its required self-discipline, but that is a blessing as well. Through very lean times, and very prosperous times, keeping a budget has guided and protected us. We know not only where our money has gone, but where it will be going. If I list as a blessing time and time again it is because I have such a testimony of budgeting.

3. My two little men. Its crazy to me how fast these two are growing up!!! I can't put into words the awe their little lives cause me on a daily basis. Parenting is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. If I had to pick one lesson motherhood has taught me I'd probably say selflessness. It is all about giving up self for the benefit of someone else. I think becoming a mother has helped me understand Christ in a whole new light. I'm still a very selfish person- but being a mom requires me to work on overcoming that daily. I'm not saying that moms should forget themselves completely- but again- isn't Christ the perfect example here? He knew exactly who he was and what he was here to do- but all of HIM was given to helping others as he continued to be him. Also, its no wonder Christ taught that we should become as little children- because though they have their moments- their hearts really are right. They are so quick to forgive and to love!!!

1. A husband who puts up with me. I think I was very much a girl this weekend- and by that I mean I think my emotions were kinda all over the place and my actions a little unpredictable and certainly not logical. My sweet husband put up with it all though- and loves me anyway!

2. Pizza for breakfast. Saturday night we ordered pizzas and had friends over to watch the BYU basketball game. We had leftover pizza - and so yes- it was enjoyed for BREAKFAST!

3. Another book finished! I finished The Good Earth last night. I enjoy reading- but its been harder for me to do a lot of it since becoming a mom- but I made it through this one pretty quickly. Before I started this one I finished up three parenting or self-help type books that I had just a couple chapters of each left in... so it feels cool to have finished several books within a month.

1. Jesus Garcia. It was his birthday yesterday- and though he avoided it- I think he ended up appreciating that we got some friends together for dinner and then cake and ice cream in honor of his birthday. He's been a true friend and we love him.

2. Rumbi Island Grill. That's where we went for dinner- and its been a while since I've been there. I love their yummy salads and fresh tasting foods.

3. Peace in scriptures. Isn't it cool how if you have questions or feel unsettled you can turn to the scriptures and find both answers and peace?!

1. Honesty. I'm so thankful for people who are not afraid to be honest. To show who they are. To share stuggles. To share accomplishments. To share loving criticism. Honesty is a characteristic I think is not appreciated as often as it should be.

2. Visiting teaching moments. I did my visiting teaching yesterday (much earlier this month than I usually do and I must say I'm proud of myself) and the it was a neat moment. The message wasn't profound, but it sparked a very honest conversation. It was nice especially since this is only my third month visiting one of the sisters, and I haven't really known her before this. Though she's in a very different stage of life than me (her youngest just got married) it was cool to be able to connect with her.

3. "I love you SO much!" I'm so thankful this phrase is heard so often in our home!

1. Last night Josh woke up after having been in bed about an hour and ran up and down the hallway panicked saying, "I gotta go pee! I gotta go pee!" We responded- "Get in your bathroom and go then!" He said, "Okay" and we then heard him climb up onto his seat and after a moment a big SIGH of relief. We laughed at the sigh, and then again a little later when after he was all done he came to our doorway and called "Goodnight!" in such a cheerful manner and then went right back to bed. The whole moment was funnier in person- but I had to try and document it.

2. This morning I was taking a shower when I hear Dekker push open the door and walk in- this isn't too big a deal- if he's awake when I shower I actually prefer him be in the bathroom where I can listen to and peak out on him. He came over pushed aside the shower curtain to say hi. Then turned and walked a way. I closed the curtain and turned around to try and hurry and finish my shower. I didn't hear a thing, but when I turned around there was Dekker standing in the shower, fully clothed, and just looking up at me with a big smile on his face (we have just a small curb to our step in shower- and somehow he snuck in!) I laughed and got him undressed and washed him up since he'd decided to get wet.

3. Honkey Cake. I made took a chocolate cake recipe and turned it into a white chocolate pudding cake with vanilla chips and took it over to my cousin's for dessert one night. It turned out really yummy and my cousin told me later that she'd been dreaming and craving it... so much that she wanted to think up a name for my creation so she'd have a way to reference and request it in the future- she said at first she thought of "White Dream" and other fancy names, but then "reverently" settled on "Honkey Cake". So there it is!

1. Park City Outlet Stores. I drove up there yesterday instead of staying at home and doing laundry and housecleaning... sometimes ya just have to get out and do something different! I found great deals on some needed items for the whole fam (actually- I didn't get anything for Dekker- poor guy!)

2. Cleaning out Jake's closet. Jake was so pleased with the new stuff I got him (he got the most- but its because he NEVER shops for himself) that he was inspired to go through his closet and get rid of all the old, worn out or never worn stuff. AHHH that feels good.

3. Only one melt down. Josh and Dekker did relatively well on our shopping excursion. They (mostly Dekker, and then Josh responding to him) had a melt down in the first store- but after working through it and getting needed food/drinks in their bellies they did pretty darn good the rest of the time. However, I'm still putting in a prayer that I'll eventually get a girl sometime down the road who will actually enjoy shopping!
